Just after 11am this morning a 2 car HEAD ON accident on Elmwood drive by the Irishtown Nature Park, 4 ambulances were called and there were many injuries. 97 year old woman with wrist and hip pain, 50 year had air bag go off in his face. Other injuries were fractures , and the Dumont hospital couldn’t handle anymore boarded patients and some had to be re routed to the Moncton City Hospital. Moncton only got 7cm of snow but it rained most of the night and frooze then got snow covered, City of Moncton once again didn’t do a very good job getting the roads cleared or salted , many of the roads in Moncton are still ice packed and the snow stopped early this morning before rush hour. 5:19pm just heard on News 91.9 that a 69 year old Woman died as a result of the accident. Road conditions at the time of the accident were ice packed. Video aired on CTV News& 2 Bon’heures TV Rogers. UPDATE a family member contacted me to report that the 97 yr old woman passed lastnight due to injuries from accident.

RCMP officer called for back up as he was in a foot pursuit of a man going up Pine Glen Road then onto Havelock Road and then back down onto Coverdale Road by the Dairy Queen and a Bicycle shop where he jumped the fence . This is when this accident occurred between the Patrol car, truck and car at the entrance to Gunningsville Bridge and Assomption Blvd. Road conditions at time of accident were wet, it was raining lightly.
