    Mitchell St. Construction Beginning

The Mitchell Street Improvement Project — it’s a project that’s been in the works for years, and now construction is finally starting. The first phase of the project runs from April 6 until about May 8, and involves the replacement of water mains, sewer mains, a railroad crossing and the road in general. This is the only phase of the project that will result in a detour for motorists. During Phase 1 of the Mitchell Street Improvement Project, through traffic will be re-routed off Mitchell Street and on to Lake and Chapin streets; local traffic will still be able to access Mitchell Street businesses. Once Phase 1 is complete, Mitchell Street will remain open during construction, though lane closures will occur at various times during the project. For the latest on the Mitchell Street Improvement Project, you can head online to downtowncadillac.com.
