these locomotives are not swift, instead they are like bulls. heavy and designed to carry loads. Indian Railways has the record for most traffic (in terms of numbers, weight and density).

Outstanding video… you captured a culture. In India the barriers at a train crossing go down about two minutes before a train arrives AND stay down until after the train passes as they don’t always have electronic gauges to alert the crossing. (If this were an Amtrak US train that could mean they’re down for two hours at times ;>)…AND, note the lack of anger, frustration and conflict in this “tense” setting. It would be different in the US!
